LEAP offers Free DIY Energy Workshop on Feb. 15

Are you familiar with LEAP, Local Energy Alliance Program? LEAP is a community-based nonprofit serving Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson counties, and the City of Charlottesville whose mission is "to lead the effort in our local community to conserve water and energy in buildings to promote cost savings, job creation, sustainability, local economic development, and environmental stewardship."

Charlottesville Realtor Virginia Gardner, www.charlottesvillehome.com,434-981-0871Among other things, LEAP sponsors valuable GreenMatters workshops, free, and their first of the new year will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 5:30 - 7:30, at The Energy House (608 Ridge Street, downtown Cville). The topic will focus on DIY Energy-saving projects and is called "Home Energy Improvements: How to Do It Right".

The program will show participants how improving energy efficiency in their homes will not only improve the comfort of their homes but also saves money. The LEAP experts will demonstrate any number of DIY projects that can help improve the energy efficiency of our homes for a minimal investment of time and money.

While learning about these projects, participants will also learn more about the LEAP program itself, how LEAP strives to "become the one-stop shop of who to call, what to do, and how to pay for it when it comes to creating a more comfortable and affordable home or building."
