Where to See Movies/Films in Charlottesville

Charlottesville Area Movies, Films, and More!

This post has listings of where to view movies, films, and more in Charlottesville and the surrounding area. Links to various theaters and the annual Virginia Film Festival held in November are included.

The 31st Annual Virginia Film Festival is November 1-4, 2018

The Virginia Film Festival (VFF) is a very exciting and special 4 day event open to the public. Events include the showing of all types of films, special industry guests, discussion panels, and more. Many University of Virginia campus venues and Charlottesville theaters will host over 150 films (including independent, new, classic, documentaries, short, foreign and virtual reality). The special guests come from all over the world to take part in the events. Panel discussions are free and open to the public. The Opening Night Gala begins November 1st and the Wrap Party ends the program on the 4th. While most events require buying tickets in advance, there are also free ones! One of the main themes for this year is Race in America. This festival is a program of the University of Virginia and the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts.
