Ruckersville, Virginia

The Ruckersville Virginia area has become the fastest growing area in Greene County. Many employees at NGIC area buying homes in the area. It supports most of the significant commercial growth in Greene, as well.  Smaller-lot neighborhoods have been built near Ruckersville. This is because Greene County has provided public utilities to the area, encouraging growth and a supportive tax base.  (Incidentally, the same family that founded Ruckersville, Georgia also founded Ruckersville VA!)  Virginia’s Ruckersville is located 17 miles north of Charlottesville and 29 miles south of Culpeper. It is 100 miles south of Washington, D.C. So, fortunately, it is just outside of the commute area for Washington.  Ruckersville sits square at the crossroads of State Routes 29 and 33. The incredible Shenandoah National Park is west of the city.  Because of the area’s superb Fall splendor, tourists land in Ruckersville in search of antiques and other treasures at the various shops which have opened.
