Chestnut Grove Neighborhood in Earlysville
The Chestnut Grove Neighborhood is a community of 24 properties along the top of Fray’s Mountain in Earlysville. Homes in this area are on Fray’s Mountain Road and Chestnut Lane (Rte. 1550).
As you drive into the Chestnut Grove Neighborhood there is a real sense of a rural community. Some homes are nestled among the trees while others have large green lawns and gardens. This area of rolling wooded hills began developing in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Lots are generally 2 or more acres in size. The styles of houses are split-level, ranch and cape. Construction is wood and brick. The area is quiet and peaceful. At any given time, you will see neighbors working in their gardens and yards. Certainly, this is a warm and friendly place to live.

Chestnut Grove is just a few miles beyond Earlysville proper which has a post office, professional offices, an animal hospital, and several churches. The beautiful Rivanna River is also close by. A short drive away is Rte. 29, offering great restaurants and great shopping. Hollymead Town Center offers Harris Teeter, Target, Panera Bread, and much more. Nearby is the Forest Lakes shopping area. Here you will find Food Lion, a UPS store, a car wash, and other restaurants, etc. The Charlottesville Airport is also in this area. Historic Downtown Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are only a 20 minute drive away.
