The Ridgefield Neighborhood is a community of 6 properties at the end of Bridlepath Drive beyond the Bedford Hills Neighborhood just off Earlysville Road.
The only way to reach the Ridgefield Neighborhood is to drive through the Bedford Hills Neighborhood. Ridgefield is a mix of cape, colonial, and ranch style homes. Construction is mainly wood and brick. Also, houses sit back from the road with nice lawns. There is ample open space fields along with pretty woods. It is possible to see a horse or two. Some homes may have mountain views. Properties are large, ranging from 3.5 to over 8 acres. Development began in 1975. The last house was built in 1985. Ridgefield is similar to other small Earlysville neighborhoods because you sense a warm and friendly atmosphere here.

First of all, Ridgefield is in a great location with many amenities. This is because it is just 5 minutes from Earlysville proper which has a post office, professional offices, an animal hospital, and several churches. The beautiful Rivanna River is also close by. A short drive away is Rte. 29, offering great restaurants and great shopping. Hollymead Town Center offers Harris Teeter, Target, Panera Bread, and much more. Nearby is the Forest Lakes shopping area. Here you will find Food Lion, a UPS store, a car wash, and other restaurants, etc. The Charlottesville Airport is also in this area. Historic Downtown Charlottesville and the University of Virginia are only a 20 minute drive away. Certainly, Ridgefield is another Earlysville neighborhood that is a great rural place to come home to.
