A Little History and About the Area
The first homes in the Dunlora area were constructed by small, quality custom home builders, such as Hamilton Homes and Arden Homes. Eventually, Robert Hauser purchased the majority of the property and completed the development. He divided the remaining lots between the then larger Charlottesville builders. They were Robert Hauser Homes, Wade Homes, and Van Der Linde Homes.
Today, the Dunlora neighborhood consists of single family homes along nicely landscaped roads and cul-de-sacs. Dunlora Gates is a community of pretty, well-designed attached homes. The Shepherd’s Ridge at Dunlora neighborhood is fairly new. (Ryan Homes is still developing this area.) Dunlora Park is a brand new community, currently being developed by Evergreen Homes. It will contain attached villas and single family homes. Dunlora Forest is a newer community with modern attached homes and a few single family houses. It is close by, found on Rio Road next to Pen Park. As a result, the choices of living styles make the area attractive for many types of folks.
The Dunlora Area Has Something for Everyone!
There are many options for recreation and entertainment. For example, within Dunlora are tennis courts near the entrance and the Dunlora Clubhouse has a lovely swimming pool area.
