Services for Seniors Living in the Charlottesville Area

Services for Seniors Living in the Charlottesville Area

We have an amazing selection of services for Seniors living in the Charlottesville area!

First of all, what are the available services for Seniors in our area? Perhaps you are living independently or are in assisted living. It is important to note that you have choices for in-home assistance, transportation, and healthcare resources. Also, while there are many free services, there are those that come with fees. Finally, depending upon your financial status, you should be able to find almost everything you need.

Major Services

JABA

The first place to look into is JABA (Jefferson Area Board of Aging), which offers just about everything you can think of! This is because there are in-home care support and resources, senior centers, and transportation needs. Also, Mom's Meals and Meals on Wheels are partners with JABA,  just to name a few. In addition, JABA helps with affordable housing, legal issues and counseling. Also, of important note, health, fitness, and dementia programs are also available.

Another great place to explore is the Charlottesville Senior Center. It is not your everyday Senior Center, that's for sure!  This is because it is a place of action, fun and caring. Also, it is a place for seniors to gather with their peers for exercise, for learning, for travel, and companionship. In addition, this Senior Center is a great place to begin when looking for all things "senior" in the Charlottesville area. Today the Center is located at 491 Hillsdale Drive. It is important to note that the Charlottesville Senior Center is in the midst of a fabulous change! This is because April 18, 2020 is the date for the Grand Opening of the brand new Senior Center at Belvadere. This new location is off of Rio Road, in the Belvadere Neighborhood area, with great access to all suroundings of the Charlottesville area.

Even More Exciting News! In addition, the new center will include an ACAC fitness center and a Sentara Martha Jefferson primary care clinic. The clinic will be open to all but focusing on Seniors. Certainly, seems like this is going to be one fabulous center to have so many amenities in one place!
